Access to Higher Education - Health Professionals Diploma (Online) (September 2025 Start)
Fully online Access to Higher Education Diploma This course is designed for people aged 19 or older Do you want a career in the health professions such as paramedic science, physiotherapy, occupational therapy, nursing or midwifery? Do you need a Level 3 Qualification to meet the entry requirements for university? Do you want to study online from the comfort of your own home? Are you unable to commit to full-time college-based study due to personal or employment reasons? Your learning will be fully online and will be managed and supported using the innovative eAssessor Pro platform, with ongoing support from the experienced Yeovil College Access to HE curriculum team. As the course is fully online you must have strong ICT skills to enable you to cope with the demands of the course. You will also need to have your own laptop or desktop computer.

Access to Higher Education Diploma - Nursing and Midwifery (September 2025 Start)
This course is designed for people aged 19 or older who are considering a career in Nursing or Midwifery who wish to progress to university and don't currently hold the necessary entry requirements. The Access to HE Diploma (Nursing and Midwifery) aims to develop your understanding of the roles and responsibilities of nurses and midwives and the skills needed to provide essential support, care and advice within the sector. You will also develop your understanding of the professional standards of practice and behaviour for nurses and midwives. The course will take place at Yeovil College and will be delivered over two days per week for the whole academic year. You will have homework and assignment work set each week with strict deadlines. There are around 15 hours of additional study at home required each week so it is important to ensure that you can plan this into your weekly schedule.

The Study Programme aims to provide a firm foundation for progression to study at degree level. In addition, group and individual tutorial sessions support students and offer guidance with the UCAS process and study skills. The Diploma is taught by subject specialist teaching staff in a supportive environment to develop the academic skills necessary to progress onto higher education.
