Leading the Internal Quality Assurance of Assessment Processes and Practice - Level 4 Certificate
Course Overview
This qualification is for those working in, or looking to enter roles in leading in internal quality assurance practice.
The units and qualification will provide those who carry out a lead internal quality assurance role in their organisation with the opportunity to develop and improve their practice as well as achieving a professional qualification for the role.
This certificate is for practitioners who lead the internal quality assurance process within a centre/organisation and have a responsibility for managing the quality of the internal quality assurance process, practice and the performance of internal quality assurers. They may also develop systems and lead on visits from outside agencies such as awarding organisations.
This course is delivered part time on a 1:1 flexible basis. Course fees are £1,000.

What Will I Learn
A candidate lead IQA will need to show that they have provided support for a minimum of two assessors, each of these assessors need to be assessing 2 candidates. It is the responsibility of the candidate lead IQA to locate these assessors and their candidates. Additionally, the candidate lead IQA must have the support of an occupationally competent and qualified Internal Verifier who will be responsible for countersigning all the decisions made by the candidate lead IQA. Please note that the college does not provide for these requirements.
To gain this certificate, the candidate lead IQA must achieve:
Unit 4: Understanding the Principles and Practices of Internally Assuring the Quality of Assessment (6 credits)
Unit 5: Internally Assure the Quality of Assessment (6 credits)
Unit 8: Plan, Allocate and Monitor Work in Own Area of Responsibility (5 credits)

Entry Requirements
This course requires candidates to hold GCSEs in English and maths at grade C / 4, or an equivalent (e.g. Functional Skills Level 2).
You will also need to hold a minimum of a level 3 qualification or working towards a qualification in the subject you wish to assess/teach or experience of working in a sector.
Required Experience
You need to be in an education setting where you are engaging in internal quality assurance activity. A candidate IQA will need to assess a minimum of two assessors. It is the responsibility of the candidate IQA to locate these assessors. All candidate IQAs must have the support of an occupationally competent and qualified IQA who will be responsible for counter-signing all decisions made by the candidate IQA.
