Course Overview
The VTCT Level 2 Diploma for Hair Professionals (Hairdressing) will teach you the knowledge. skills and behaviours to complete the following units -
UHB195 Consultation
UHB196 Shampoo, condition and treat the hair and scalp
UHB197 Cut hair using a range of techniques to create a variety of looks
UHB198 Style and finish hair using a range of techniques to create a variety of looks
UHB199 Colour and lighten hair using a range of techniques
UHB204 Perming hair
You will be in the workplace the majority of the week putting your skills into practice and will come to college one day a week.
Qualification Gained
You will gain a UK and Internationally recognised qualification in Level 2 Diploma for Hairdressing Professionals.
After The Course
You can develop your skills further and enrol onto Advanced courses such as Level 3 Diploma in Advanced and Creative Hairdressing. Whilst continuing your employment as a hair stylist.
What Will I Learn
You will learn to carry out consultations on clients, demonstrating the professionalism, values, behaviourism, communication skills and safe working practice associated with your role and be able to work without supervision to a high level of precision, with exceptional client care skills.
English And Maths
You are required to achieve a GCSE grade 2 or above in English and Maths.
You are required to work towards your level 2 functional skills in English
and/or Maths alongside your apprenticeship if you achieved a grade
3.
Teaching Learning and Assessment
You must demonstrate the behaviours and communication skills, safe working practices and the professionalism and values associated with your role and be able to work without supervision to a high level of precision, with exceptional client care skills. These transferable skills must be demonstrated throughout all units.
How Will I Be Assessed
Once you have achieved all mandatory units and external examinations (MCQ), you are able to claim for the Diploma for Hair Professionals (Hairdressing) which is a full qualification certificate. This can be used as evidence of the achievement for the gateway stage. This period during Gateway prepares you for your final EPA Examination.
Entry Requirements
You will complete these qualifications as an employed apprentice in a real
working environment. Learners are required to find employment in a Hair salon,
prior to application ideally. The Employer must have Employer's Liability
Insurance and the college will work with the Employer to make the necessary
checks.
